Resurfacing

Reasons for our recent blog hiatus:

1. Blogger wants us to re-register and that take five valuable nap-minutes.

2. The Bean just started school today after a loooong winter break (Christmas to March 13.)

3. I have had to busy myself with other endeavors such as work (ha) and trying to really decide upon and order curtains for that spare bedroom! (HA)

4. Two birthday parties at our home in a week. (Cocktail, anyone?)

5. I have internalized the (not-completely-unfair) Gen X parent blog stereotype of "look-at-me-and-my-kid-aren't-we-cool" backlash. Perhaps now the hippest form of parenting is completely under the radar.

6. I am busy debating ways to thwart the Whole Foods empire and join a home-based food co-op program. (Speaking of backlash...)

7. Too damn tired.

***

However, the one stereotypically Gen-X-cool-child moment to share before I fall off the radar for today is:

The Bean, requesting during a recent car trip, in the absence of any Dan Zanes (I know, the stereotype is killing me now) available in the car, to listen to, "Charlie Hot Pepper."

I mean, the new album is nice and ballady, kind of like Music Together.

Ha ha!

Leah now plaintively requests "Pearl Jam!" when we are in the car. It must, however, be their NEWest album, not the old-fashioned stuff before her time.
