The Bean does NOT want anyone singing in the car. Except her. "I can't hear the words," she objects. I used to think it was a phase, but it remains an issue; at least she's past the flying-into-despair-and-insisting-we-replay-the-WHOLE-song phase.
But she is, in fact, becoming more flexible about it.
Case in point: driving back from a kid-friendly Mexican restaurant in Montclair, Johnny Cash and June Carter's "Jackson" playing on the stereo. "No, no, no," the Bean insisted when Rich began to sing. Then, after a moment, "You can only sing the Daddy part. Not the Mommy part."

I totally did that when I was younger! As a matter of fact, I tend to still do it. Sometimes when Chris and I are listening to a song, I will "suggest" that we sing the different parts. It's possible Aiden will wind up doing it too. We shall see. I'll keep you posted.
