Scene: I ask the Bean to change her pull-up diaper upstairs. In some ways, namely the sheer-domestic-labor ways but not the complex-psychological ways, parenting is getting easier. After five minutes, she descends wearing an aqua blue t-shirt and aqua blue and green checkered shorts:
"It's not summer!" I say, amused.
"Don't laugh at me."
"At least you match. Good job, picking out an outfit that matches."
Then, after I fetch her a snack of Panda Puffs and almond milk--almond milk a newish introduction to combat certain dairy-related digestive issues we don't need to get into right now:
"This is yucky but I like it."
